First off, thank you for subscribing to the NERDS.xyz newsletter. Seriously. It means a lot.
Starting an independent tech site in 2026 feels a little crazy sometimes. The internet is flooded with AI generated content, recycled press releases, ragebait, and giant media companies chasing clicks at all costs. My goal with NERDS.xyz is to do something a little different.
I want this site to feel human.
I have been covering technology for many years, and I still genuinely love this stuff. Linux, open source software, weird hardware, AI nonsense, cybersecurity disasters, retro tech, cloud services, storage, gadgets, and all the drama surrounding the tech industry. I enjoy writing about it, and I enjoy talking with other nerds who care about it too.
This newsletter is going to be simple. No corporate buzzwords. No spam. Just updates about stories I think are worth reading, along with occasional personal thoughts about the tech world and where things are heading.
One thing I’ve been thinking about lately is how fragile internet platforms have become for independent creators and publishers. Algorithms change. Social accounts disappear. Communities shift overnight. That’s one reason this newsletter matters to me. Email is direct. Nobody can throttle it away or decide you suddenly no longer exist.

That article probably sums up my overall view of the tech industry right now better than anything else. I love technology, but I also think companies need to stop pretending every AI feature automatically improves people’s lives.
